Double Six, 2020, 24"X24"

Double six is one of my earlier works. It represents your typical Jamaican scene of men enjoying the excitement of a friendly game of dominoes. As all Caribbean people know, the game of dominoes can be played anywhere there is a space for a table, makeshift seats and at least 4 willing players. Most communities have a group of veteran domino players for whom the game is serious business. Utmost concentration, and occasional outbursts for playing the winning piece can always be expected. The vivid colors in the piece reflect this atmosphere of play and excitement.
